1. Agreement

By using Hear Their Name you agree to these Terms. If you don't, please don't use the service.

2. The service

We write and narrate personalised audio stories for children, delivered by email as a link to a public playback page. The service is operated by BuiltSmarter (United Kingdom).

3. Your responsibilities

• You confirm you are a parent, guardian, or someone authorised to request a story for a child.
• You confirm the details you provide (names, ages, interests) are accurate to the best of your knowledge.
• You agree not to use the service in a way that's abusive, defamatory, or harmful to any real person.

4. Ownership and use

Once a story is delivered, the audio and its link are yours to keep, share, and replay. You may forward the link freely. We retain the right to use anonymised patterns of usage (e.g. "average story length") for internal product improvement. We do not claim ownership of the details you share about your child.

5. Donations

Donations are voluntary. No goods or services are provided in exchange. Payments are handled by Stripe and are non-refundable except where required by law.

6. Acceptable use

We may decline to generate a story, or remove one, if the request is clearly abusive, harmful, targets a real person maliciously, or violates our values as a service for children. This is rare.

7. Availability

We aim to deliver within 72 hours but can't guarantee specific delivery times. If something goes wrong, reply to any of our emails and we'll sort it.

8. Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is". We make no warranties about the content of any individual story beyond our reasonable best effort. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you've paid us (£0 for a free story).

9. Termination

You can stop using the service at any time. If you want your data deleted, email jamie@heartheirname.com.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. The "Updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
